Comfort Measures Workshop

Are you approaching your estimated due date and not sure what you or your partner might do to help ease labor pain? This course is for you!

Did you know what you do physically during labor can affect how long your labor is and how you feel during it? I’d love to share what I’ve learned with you!

Whether you plan to get an epidural to ease labor pain or your goal is an unmedicated birth, everyone needs at least a few tools to help them cope with labor. Whether you plan to have a doula or not, this class will help you feel confident in your role during your birth. This three hour course is designed to help moms and partners feel prepared for the variety of ways labor can unfold by giving you more tools than you need. The focus is on first understanding the science of labor pain and comfort, followed by modeling and practicing hands-on comfort measures, positioning, and movement to ease labor discomfort.

  • Cost $75 per couple if I am not already your doula (you are welcome to bring your sister/friend/doula/or mom as your second person if that is who will accompany you during birth)
  • Offered on a monthly or bimonthly basis, dependent on my schedule. The class is typically offered on a Saturday morning from 9:30-12:30, though I am open to negotiating a different time if needed. I will run the class as long as a minimum registration count is reached one week in advance. Contact Me to inquire about upcoming dates.
